Symmons Plains Raceway - the Tassie round of a National Event

Symmons Plains race track is located on the Midlands Highway approximately 30 km from Launceston. In 2014 it will again host a round of the national/international V8 Supercars racing. This year (2014) it will host Round 2 in late March.

Here is a screenshot of the 2013 race map showing the location of the only grandstand seating available. It is in a great position for race viewing and has been filled with patrons every year since 2004 when a round of the V8 Supercars returned to Tasmania. In 2014 it may not be there giving Tasmanian fans less viewing options than any other round.
